Our ethos and approach in the senior school remains focused on developing the unique skills, talents and abilities of every individual pupil with personalised education plans for everyone.
The senior school curriculum is built around 4 key components:
– Developing a strong foundation in traditional academic learning
– Creativity and innovation
– Physical development
– The learning and acquisition of key life skills
Small class sizes, expert and committed teachers and a multi-disciplinary, multi-skill approach to learning and development allow us to successfully support, stretch and challenge every student.
Our curriculum offering in the senior school is underpinned by a strong and consistent focus on literacy and numeracy, with the clear objective of having every child able to successfully progress to achieve good grades in these subjects at BTEC or GCSE level. Alongside literacy and numeracy, every student in the senior school explores science, history, geography, DT, art, textiles, ICT, music and food technology - since everyone needs to learn the basic life skill of cooking.
Alongside traditional Key Stage 4 studies, our students are also able to participate in and achieve recognition and qualifications in a variety of other endeavours including sport leadership, coaching awards and Duke of Edinburgh awards..
