Art

Art lessons are twice a week for Years 7, 8 and 9 and a double session for Years 10 and 11. This subject provides opportunities to learn and develop further skills in a variety of activities, materials and styles. During a series of projects students will paint, draw, collage, sculpt and print with pencil, watercolour, poster paint, acrylic, charcoal, pastel, inks, papier mache, clay, plaster, wire etc.

Visits to museums and art galleries are often arranged and invited guest speakers and artists demonstrate their work so that students need only supply enthusiasm.

The Art GCSE is done a while before the other exams so that students can focus on the exam and give it the time it needs, and then concentrate on revision for other subjects.
