We believe that children learn most effectively when they are having fun. Variety is exciting and helps every child to maximise his or her potential in all aspects of the curriculum. In this way a secure educational foundation can be laid for future growth.
Action-packed days full of fun
In Pre-School, at the age of 3 years, each child is assigned a key worker dedicated to encourage, support, develop skills and ensure that records of individual needs are met.
Every child has an individual portfolio that celebrates progress and achievements, and focuses on his or her early years at school and at home. A Foundation Stage profile is completed with your child as they progress through the learning goals in Pre-School and Reception.
This helps ensure a smooth transition to the Lower School’s programme. Our curriculum allows every child to make the most of his or her own special talents and strengths. Every child works at his or her own level. Learning support is available for those who need additional help and there is an accelerated learning programme for pupils who need to be extended throughout their education.
Many specialist subjects are introduced at this stage but equally we like to ensure that the fun factor always remains. In addition to core subjects pupils enjoy French, German, ICT, PE, games and swimming, music, design and technology, art, drama and science.
Every day provides a new challenge and opportunity. Every day is stimulating and action-packed, whether it involves preparing to board the swimming coach or gathering materials for a new scientific experiment.
What role can parents play?
We are always keen to involve parents and family, and will keep you regularly informed of your child's progress and well-being.
Our aim is to establish a strong partnership in which we can all work together for the ultimate benefit of every child in our care.
How does Lower School prepare my child for Middle School?
By the end of Year 5, as pupils prepare to transfer to Middle School, they are fully conversant with all core subjects. They are confident learners ready to undertake a more demanding educational challenge.
