Riverston School Supports the Demelza Hospice in Eltham

Demelza receives a cheque for £1278.68 from Riverston

Members of the "The Young Spirits" team competing in the Mrs Salathiel's Young Apprentice competition presented a cheque for £1278.68 to Kate Najdowski on the afternoon of 21 March in front of the Middle and Upper School.

This team, between them, collected the most money of all the teams taking part and was given the honour of giving the money raised to Kate who represents the Demelza Hospice in Eltham. Kate explained to the assemled pupils how the money will make a differenece to the lives of the boys and girls who visit the hospice and the benefits that their families will experience as a result of this. The charity does fantastic work in our local community and we are determined to continue to support such a worthwhile cause.

Samuel, Daniel and Tom went out of their way to raise as much money as possible for the charity, and were constantly nagging members of staff, pupils, friends and family to dig into their pockets and donate money to Demelza by buying a choice of red and white dotted goods.

Thank you to everyone who bought the many cups, mugs, bags, tea-towels, torches and goodness knows what else, to raise such a large amount of money in just 3 weeks! A fantastic result by all the Young Apprentices. Well done all of you.
