Lower School
We believe that children learn most effectively when they are having fun. Variety is exciting and helps every child to maximise his or her potential in all aspects of the curriculum. In this way a secure educational foundation can be laid for future growth
The Lower School is set within the main school site and have bright and inviting classrooms in which all children’s work is celebrated. We also have access to the ICT suite, interactive whiteboards, the library, art room and cookery facilities.
The Lower School provides a safe, secure and caring environment for younger children to develop their skills as well as learning how to work and play together. In years 1, 2, 3 and 4 teaching is more traditional whilst fully taking into account the guidelines of the National Curriculum. Each child is taught most subjects by his or her class teacher and is taught by specialist teachers for physical education, swimming, French and music.
Parent support is always welcomed and there are often times when we ask for help whether in the classroom, at fundraising events or out of school on trips. We also provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities which includes drama, dance, football, art, crafts, ICT and choir. We offer individual tuition in a variety of musical instruments.
All of the Lower School staff are experienced at working alongside children with a variety of needs and are proud of how harmoniously all children work together. We are also very supportive at developing the English language skills of children who have relocated to the U.K. and have had many children become fluent in English within a week!
Cooked lunches, prepared in our own kitchens, are provided for all children and a healthy snack is provided at morning break.
Our children are given an excellent start to their education and are well prepared for life in the Middle School.
